Are you fully aware of when to ice and when to heat an injury?
I found this article
it's pretty simple but explains how injuries should be treated.
This is something that as professionals we should know, but do we? Do we put it into pratcice?
We should all know the RICE procedure, but recent evidence shows that the swelling and heat created by some injuries helps to repair the tissue. This is a big contracts to the belief that the swelling needs to be removed, so ice is applied. I feel ice is the way forward, unless it is a muscular injury, but initially, ice is vital!
