My professional Profile

I've had some really helpful comments about my CV and I'm still working on it but I thought I would upload my professional profile. At the moment it's a bit impersonal but I'm not sure if it's already too long winded as it stands? Here's the link: Professional Profile. Thank you

  1. Hi Emily,

I got a clear insight into what your journey towards working as a professional dancer has been. I don't think it's too impersonal or too long-winded; in fact there may be room for a final paragraph on where you want to go next as a dancer, what do you think?

  2. Thanks Aicha, yes I think this is a good idea. I was having a read of other people's profiles and I saw that Liam had written about what he was aspiring to achieve as well so I'll have a go at adding it in.
P.S how do you get the "i" in your name to do that I can't work out how to do it and I feel like I'm spelling your name wrong every time!

  3. It's going to a lot of effort, but being incredibly obsessive I actually copy and paste Aïchas name every time I want to type it! There must be an easier way!?

Emily, I agree with Aïcha 100%. I liked that it was short and sweet, but maybe a final paragraph would finish it off nicely.

  4. You don't know how happy these last two comments just made me!!! I really appreciate the lengths you are going to Liam!

The 2 dots on the i do change the pronunciation of my name (otherwise it would be ay-cha not eye-sha)
On most conmputers if you have a number keypad, you can hold down Alt and type 0239 (make sure Number lock is on) which will give you ï. all special characters such as é, è, ô, à etc have their own numeric code. On my laptop as it's a mini one i don't have a number pad but I do have a second set of numbers written on part of the keyboard - these are the ones to use! Have a play around, it is a lot quicker than copy/paste once you're used to it - but I'm not offended if you just want to put Aicha, although I love it when people want to spell it properly! My parents obviously never realised how much trouble they were causing....

  5. Hi Emily.

I really enjoyed reading you personal profile, I felt I really got to know you and definatly understood the passion for your dance career.
I too, was going to suggest maybe mentioning enrolling on this course and summarizing your piece with a short paragraph of how you think or hope gaining this degree will benefit, and help achieve your goals?
